The International Financial Services Centre was created in 2003.

A buoyant financial services hub

Acting as the lighthouse of diversification in Botswana, the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) is leading the sector by receiving full support from the government in order to create solid utilities in outsourcing and international insurance.

‘We are determined to be a model of probity in every facet of our dealings’

Through priceless co-operation the parliament has allowed the IFSC to place itself among top global competition including the United States and Australia, having removed obstacles like double taxation. It now occupies the top of the list in global rankings, which in turn has led to interest from foreign investors in the government’s protocols to remove trade barriers. Such legislation was passed directly for IFSC’s business and growth, with an honest and legal process in mind.

“We are determined to be a model of probity in every facet of our dealings,” says Alan Boshwaen, CEO of IFSC. It appears that such ethical thinking has allowed them to avoid becoming a tax haven, therefore creating reliable statistics such as drawing one serious business to them each month, prompting Accenture to speculate that they could create over 17,000 jobs over the next few years.
